About DSR & home loan eligibility
- DSR = total monthly debt ÷ monthly income. Lower is safer in the bank's eyes.
- Your home instalment plus all other debts must sit within the bank's DSR limit (usually 60–70%).
- Clearing credit cards & other loans before applying raises how much you qualify for.
- Save for the 10% deposit plus legal fees & stamp duty (~3–4% of the price).
