EPF Dividend 2025: What It Means For You

For the financial year 2025, EPF recorded total distributable income of RM82.7 billion and declared a 6.15% dividend with a total payout of RM79.6 billion — RM67.1 billion for Simpanan Konvensional and RM12.5 billion for Simpanan Shariah. This is the second consecutive year both savings schemes received the same rate.

Over the last 10 years, the conventional dividend has averaged 5.88% per year — well above the EPF's statutory minimum of 2.5% and ahead of typical fixed deposit rates. Because EPF dividends compound on your entire balance every year, even a small rate difference matters: at 6.15%, a RM200,000 balance earns roughly RM12,300 in a single year.

Dividends are calculated based on daily aggregate balances and credited automatically — you do not need to apply. Check your credited amount in your i-Akaun via the KWSP app or web portal.

Frequently Asked Questions

When was the EPF dividend for 2025 credited?

The 2025 dividend was announced on 28 February 2026 and crediting was completed by 1 March 2026 for both Simpanan Konvensional and Simpanan Shariah.

Why is my actual dividend different from balance × rate?

EPF computes dividends on your daily aggregate balance. Contributions made partway through the year only earn dividends from the date they were received, so your actual payout is usually slightly different from a simple year-end balance × rate estimate.

Is Simpanan Shariah's dividend always lower?

Not necessarily. Historically Shariah rates were slightly lower than conventional, but in 2024 and 2025 both schemes received identical rates (6.30% and 6.15% respectively).

What is the minimum dividend EPF must pay?

Under the EPF Act 1991, EPF must declare a minimum dividend of 2.5% per year on Simpanan Konvensional. Actual declared rates have been well above this minimum.
